Finishing

Pine Finishes

Standard Finish:

This involves our stain and then one or more coats of wax.

Table Finishes:

  1. Our stain and then one or more coats of wax.
  2. Our stain and then lacquering.
  3. Our stain, a seal and one or more coats of wax.

Option 2 can be done without staining. All the above finishes can be done to a customers colour sample but there will be an additional charge (quote provided).

Natural Finish:

This involves no staining but one or more coats of wax.

Paint Finish:

We use a specialist lacquer to create our paint finish. Please note there is an additional charge for this service (quote provided). Please note that with pine furniture it is nearly impossible to guarantee that the knots will not bleed through. We endeavour to reduce the likelihood of this occuring to the best of our ability.

Special Colours:

We take on matching customers' samples but do not guarantee a perfect match. Please note there is an additional charge for this service (quote provided).

Oak Finishes

  1. Lacquering.

We do not generally paint oak furniture.

Product Care

All finishes need to be treated with respect. You should try and use coasters and placemats on tables. If a spillage occurs wipe it up straight away.

Wax finishes should be recoated at least every six months with proper wax not spray.

We would be able to advise if damage was to occur but we would need to see it in most cases and for a charge we can often undertake remedial work.

Please note the above does not amount to professional advice if you are in any doubt about finishing or product care consult a professional furniture maker or retailer.
